Wolfsburg are now considering the sale of Omar Marmoush in January amid interest from Premier League trio Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest in the Egypt international, according to the Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung.

With Marmoush’s contract expiring next summer, and with talks over a new deal hitting the buffers, Die Wolfe find themselves in a rather awkward position.

Do they sell in January? Or hold on to the former Stuttgart loanee until the end of the season, in the hope that an extension can still be reached? Those are the options Wolfsburg are weighing up, WAZ report, with sporting director Jorg Schmadtke struggling to convince Marmoush that he would be better off staying put at the Volkswagen Arena.

“If (the contract talks) don’t work, then they won’t work. Then, we will make a decision for winter and the summer,” explains Schmadtke.

Marmoush was valued at around £17 million when Arsenal and Spurs were first linked a couple of months ago. The Egyptian may be available for a reduced sum in January, however, given how close he is to becoming a free-agent.

According to BILD, London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal have been watching Marmoush. A set-piece specialist who ‘dreams’ of the Premier League; he is one of a number of talented young wingers on Mikel Arteta’s radar. Facundo Torres, Christian Pulisic and Mykhaylo Mudryk are also Gunners targets.

Kicker, meanwhile, say that Marmoush also has admirers at the City Ground. Big-spending Nottingham Forest have already brought in his former Stuttgart team-mate Orel Mangala.

“My dream is the Premier League,” Marmoush explains. “I don’t have a favourite club, but I watch Arsenal and Liverpool a lot.”

That, of course, probably has a lot to do with the fact that two of Marmoush’s fellow Egyptians ply their trade at the Emirates and Anfield; Mo Elneny and Mo Salah respectively.
