Juventus have reportedly eyed Newcastle United target Ousmane Dembele as an option to replace Paulo Dybala, who is wanted this summer by Tottenham.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via TuttoJuve, the Serie A giants have identified the FC Barcelona star as an option to replace Dybala, with the Argentine phenom set to leave Juventus at the end of this season after failing to agree to a new contract with Juventus.

As per the report, Juventus are also keeping tabs on PSG superstar Angel Di Maria, with the Old Lady eyeing a superstar free agent to take over from Dybala, who is reportedly a target for Tottenham and numerous other European clubs.

According to Corriere dello Sport via TuttoMercatoWeb, the 28-year-old’s agent has been in England in recent weeks to talk to Premier League sides about a potential move to the United Kingdom, with Tottenham one of the sides entertaining a visit from Dybala’s representative.

With the South American earning a reported £220,000-a-week, signing Dybala will be no easy feat for Juventus, as will Juventus trying to land Dembele from the likes of Newcastle, with Barcelona spending £136m to bring the attacker to Catalonia in 2017 as per BBC Sport.

Given Dembele’s form this year, it is perhaps no surprise to see Juventus register an interest in the 24-year-old to replace Dybala, yet this news is nothing but a major blow for Newcastle and their ambitious summer plans.

Dembele has arguably been the best player in La Liga since the turn of the year, with Xavi Hernandez proving to be the Barcelona coach to get the best out of the dynamic creative attacker, and for Juventus, the Frenchman could be perfect to replace Dybala despite Newcastle’s interest.

The forward had all the hallmarks of being Newcastle’s first major marquee signing under their new owners, but with Juventus now tempting to get Dembele to Turin, the Toon could easily miss out on the in-form attacker.
