Liverpool fans might be gutted that the Jurgen Klopp era is over, but they will be looking forward to seeing what Arne Slot cooks up.
Michael Edwards, who did wonders in his first spell at Anfield, has returned to the club and it adds an extra bit of spice to Liverpool’s summer transfer window.
If Edwards can get anywhere near the levels he did many years ago, then fans are in for a treat because, not only does he bring in quality players, but many of them are players who cost very little in comparison to the market value.
You wonder what players currently at Euro 2024 Liverpool will buy because there are some who are on their radar.
Germany are the host nation and they beat Denmark 2-0 to reach the quarter-final stages on Saturday.
One man who came off the bench for Julian Nagelsmann’s side was Waldemar Anton, with suggestions before the game that he could start because of injury issues.
Legendary commentator Clive Tyldesley claimed that there is ‘a lot of interest’ from Liverpool in the Stuttgart defender.
Described as a ‘6ft 2in’ defender, Tyldesley added that, amid the Liverpool interest, it seems as though Anton will be moving across to the Bundesliga and joining Champions League finalists, Borussia Dortmund instead, as he told ITV Sport.
Liverpool’s transfer interest in Waldemar Anton
“Waldemar Anton, he’s a Stuttgart centre-back, he takes over from Leroy Sane,” said Tyldesley.
“He might actually be heading here to Dortmund. I have seen a lot of Liverpool interest. He will turn 28 next month. He made his international debut in March. He’s 6ft 2in Stuttgart centre-back, well, Stuttgart for now.”

Liverpool need to improve their backline
There was a lot of talk and criticism about how Liverpool’s forward line performed last season, especially during the latter stages.
But not enough heat was put on the defence because it was pretty inconsistent, even if there were injuries galore.

Whatever happens, Slot needs to bring in several faces for competition, depth and just to freshen things up.
With Euro 2024 and Copa America still taking centre stage, you feel fans might only get to see deals going through once the two tournaments are over.
