Jude Bellingham has posted on Instagram that James Maddison was ‘class’ following Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the north London derby on Sunday at the Emirates.

The Tottenham summer signing went into the game in top form after winning August’s Premier League Player of the Month – Sol Campbell was also impressed with the Englishman against Arsenal.

The England international was also possibly playing the best football of his career, and in the biggest game Tottenham can play in, James Maddison provided two assists and walked away with the Man of the Match award against Premier League title-chasing, Arsenal.

This despite Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs falling a goal behind inside half an hour when Cristian Romero put the ball into the back of his own net in unfortunate circumstances.

Arsenal had the chance to make it 2-0 when Gabriel Jesus dispossessed James Maddison on the edge of his box, only for his effort to sail over the bar.

That’s when Tottenham’s man in the middle started to cook and take the levels of his team up a notch, including getting the better of Bukayo Saka for his side’s opening goal, before pouncing on Jorginho’s mistake just as Arsenal had gone ahead in the second half.

Jude Bellingham praises James Maddison

When Maddison took to Instagram to react to today’s result, in the comments section, Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham simply wrote the word ‘class’.

James Maddison stands up tall

The Spurs fans have been waiting a long while for a player of Maddison’s ilk to enter their building after the departure of Christian Eriksen.

And whilst they have had to wait for a number of years, given the type of performances Maddison is putting up, it has been well worth it.

Ever since he has donned the club’s colours, the former Leicester City man hasn’t put a foot wrong and he is standing tall, sticking his chest out and delivering on the big stages.
