Tottenham Hotspur defeated Barnsley 1-0 in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

Tottenham Hotspur moved into the fourth round of the EFL Cup after beating Championship outfit Barnsley 1-0 on Tuesday night at Wembley.
Dele Alli scored the only goal of the match in the 65th minute, in front of a Wembley crowd of just 23,926.
Former Tottenham Hotspur player, Christian Ziege, has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his reaction.

He summed up Tottenham’s victory in two words: “Job done”.
Former Spurs chairman, Alan Sugar, labelled Spurs’ victory as a “disgrace”. He expected the north Londoners to win by a big margin.
However, Zeige is absolutely spot on with his assessment.

First of all, Mauricio Pochettino made it very clear that he is prioritising the Premier League and the Champions League over domestic cup competitions.
Therefore, all that matters for him is the win, and not the manner of the victory.
Secondly, they have won just one game at Wembley so far – against Borussia Dortmund, and needless to say they are not playing with the same level of comfort with which they played at the White Hart Lane.
From that perspective, it was important to get the “job done” more than anything else.
