Christian Fuchs told Match of the Day that reported West Ham target, Marko Arnautovic, is ‘one of the top players in Austria’.

Two years after Arnautovic left West Ham to fulfil his ‘dream’ of playing in China, his name has now been touted as potentially returning to East London.

TalkSport have claimed that the all-action forward is on West Ham’s summer wishlist as they look to bolster their attacking options.

And former Leicester City defender, Fuchs, who played with Arnautovic on the international stage, had this to say about his fellow countryman.

“Marko Arnautovic is one of the top players in Austria,” said Fuchs. “He is experienced and he scores goals wherever he has been.

“Due to his ability, defenders are always on their toes and they are occupied. He is attracting two players, which frees up on the other side some of his teammates.”

Whilst West Ham fans want their club to dip into the market to bulk up their squad, especially the forward line.

It would be a surprise if they welcomed back a player like Arnautovic, who didn’t leave the club on great terms.

Now at the age of 32, Arnautovic, for a period under David Moyes started to showcase the goalscoring talents he always had in his locker.

Just like Moyes has done with Michail Antonio, he moved the Austrian into a forward role and it changed his game.

But that decision to move to China was a huge mistake from the former Inter Milan player, who was knocked out of Euro 2020 with Austria over the weekend.
