Former Spurs star Jamie Redknapp has written in The Daily Mail that Christian Eriksen should not join Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

The Sky Sports pundit has urged Eriksen to stay at Brentford beyond the end of the season and not return to Tottenham.

The 30-year-old attacking midfielder is out of contract at the Bees at the end of the season.

Tottenham want to re-sign the Denmark international attacking midfielder, according to The Daily Mail.

The report has claimed that Manchester United are monitoring Eriksen closely as well.

Redknapp wrote in The Daily Mail: “Could Christian Eriksen do a job in Tottenham’s midfield? Sure, he’s talented enough to improve plenty of teams towards the top of the Premier League.

“But I hope he stays at Brentford. He’s writing a new chapter with a lovely club and it would be nice to see him continue this footballing fairytale.”

The Sky Sports pundit added: “Eriksen may have his pick of clubs when he’s a free agent in the summer but he seems happy at Brentford and I’d like to see him thrive there.”

Tottenham could be tempting for Christian Eriksen

In our opinion, Tottenham could be very tempting for Eriksen.

Yes, Brentford are a very good club and could well survive in the Premier League this season.

But the Bees will be fighting for survival again in the Premier League next season.

Eriksen is a former Tottenham player who is still adored and loved by the fans at the North London club.

Moreover, in Spurs head coach Antonio Conte, the Dane will work with a manager he played under at Inter Milan.

Tottenham could finish in the Premier League top four this season and then kick on under Conte.

If Spurs make an offer to Eriksen, then, in our view, he would find it very tempting to move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
