Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Brentford playmaker Christian Eriksen, but they are facing competition from Manchester United, according to The Daily Mail.

The report has claimed that Tottenham and United are among the clubs closely monitoring the Denmark international attacking midfielder.

Eriksen, a former Tottenham star who worked with current Spurs head coach Antonio Conte at Inter Milan in Italy, is under contract at Brentford until the end of the season.

Tottenham should bring back Christian Eriksen

In our opinion, Tottenham should re-sign Eriksen on a free transfer in the summer of 2022.

The 30-year-old is still at his creative best and in his prime, and he would be a brilliant addition to the Tottenham team.

While Spurs are doing well at the moment, we cannot deny the fact that the North London club did not really replace Eriksen since he left for Inter.

Described by former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood as a player whose “attitude and conduct is magnificent” on Sky Sports (19/02/22 at 1:50 pm). Eriksen would fit in seamlessly at Spurs and would be able to make an immediate impact on the team.

Moreover, the Dane would be a free agent, which means that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would get a quality playmaker without having to pay a transfer fee.
