Tottenham Hotspur are expected to challenge for the Premier League title again this term.
Ex-Spurs winger Chris Waddle spoke to the club’s official website following his former side’s impressive win over Newcastle at St James’ Park on Sunday, and highlighted a potential problem that Mauricio Pochettino’s men will face this season.
Tottenham fans are becoming more frustrated with every day that passes, with their club still yet to make a signing this summer, whilst all of their direct competitors continue to bolster their ranks.
Despite that though, the Lilywhites looked the part against the Toon at the weekend, and if they can keep Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen fit for the majority of the campaign, they surely have every chance of going one step further this time around.

Waddle though, explained how Spurs will have to be even more intricate with their play this season, and predicted that they will come up against plenty of deep-lying defences, as quoted by TottenhamHotspur.com:
“It was a hard game to judge because Newcastle sat back and said ‘come and beat us’ and there will be a lot of teams who do that now against Tottenham, and they will have to be patient. Now it’s Chelsea next week and that will be a great game, a fantastic occasion at Wembley.”
With just over two weeks remaining until the transfer window slams shut, Pochettino will surely be looking to bring in at least two new faces, to help bolster his options for what will be an extremely challenging campaign, both physically and mentally.
And the signing of someone to compete with Eriksen in the creative attacking midfield role will be vitally important, if Tottenham are to mix things up this season, and enable the Dane to play with less pressure on his shoulders.
