Just as we expected, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta did not include Aaron Ramsdale in the starting lineup against Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium this past weekend.

Arsenal took on Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby this past Sunday.

David Raya started the Premier League match.

Aaron Ramsdale was a substitute.

Ramsdale was playing regularly for Arsenal until recently.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta decided to start Raya against Everton in the Premier League.

The Spain international goalkeeper, who joined Arsenal in the summer transfer window, kept his place in the Gunners’ team against PSV in the UEFA Champions League last week.

And Raya was in goal for Arsenal against Tottenham in the North London derby this past Sunday.

The Premier League match ended in a 2-2 draw.

Raya played well and made some fantastic saves.

It must have been hard for Ramsdale to watch the North London derby from the bench, but he did look like he was supporting Arsenal.

There was one particular moment where Ramsdale was caught on camera applauding Raya.

When the Spanish goalkeeper made a brilliant save from Brennan Johnson’s effort, Ramsdale applauded him.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher joked on Sky Sports that Ramsdale was doing that just for the camera, saying that it was like being at the Oscars.

But, it seems that former Chelsea striker and BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton was impressed by Ramsdale’s actions, as you can see below.
