Former Celtic star Chris Sutton has hit back at Talksport host Jason Cundy’s suggestion Stoke City are a bigger club than Celtic.
Cundy, a former footballer with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, made his comments on Twitter, arguing that Stoke have more followers on their Twitter account than Celtic do.
Sutton this morning responded, hitting back at Cundy’s claim as ill informed.
Sutton then retweeted a message displaying pop band One Direction having one million more Twitter followers than the Rolling Stones, to illustrate his point that social media following is no credible way to gauge greatness.
Celtic are running away with their sixth league title in Scotland, and the perception south of the border is that they are a decent team in a woeful league.
