Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea are now being linked with Santiago Gimenez, a player David Moyes’s West Ham United and Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur wanted to sign in the summer transfer window.

According to 90min, Chelsea are interested in signing Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord.

The report has claimed that the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are on the hunt for a new striker, and that they could try to bring in Gimenez in January 2024 or in the summer of 2024.

90min has claimed that West Ham tried to sign Gimenez from Feyenoord in the summer of 2023.

FIFA agent Morris Pagniello said to Medio Tiempo in late August that Tottenham were among the clubs who tried to sign the 22-year-old Mexico international striker in the summer transfer window.

The youngster is still at Feyenoord.

Chelsea should aim higher than Santiago Gimenez

We do not think that Chelsea should spend a lot of money on Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez.

Yes, we know that Gimenez is a very good and promising young striker who has a lot of potential.

The Feyenoord no. 29 has scored five goals in four Eredivisie matches so far this season.

The 22-year-old made 21 starts and 11 substitute appearances in the league last season.

The striker scored 15 goals and gave two assists in those games.

Stats clearly show how good Gimenez is, but if Chelsea are to compete with Manchester City for the Premier League title and to win the UEFA Champions League again in the coming years, then they have to get in a world-class striker who has been successful at the top level for a number of years.

Chelsea already have two very young and promising strikers in Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja.
