Chelsea have joined the likes of Arsenal and Everton in the race to sign Manchester City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko, who is set to leave the Premier League champions this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Thomas Thuchel’s side are keen on bringing the Ukrainian international to Stamford Bridge with Chelsea already reportedly interested in signing fellow City teammates Raheem Sterling and Nathan Ake, with the Blues also set to pip Arsenal to Raphinha.

Todd Boehly is keen to win over fans in his first summer as owner of Chelsea, and this quadruple Premier League swoop could be an excellent first step into strengthening the west London side’s squad, which this summer has already seen the likes of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Romelu Lukaku leave.

And Zinchenko, who has been hailed as ‘incredible’, could be an excellent signing for Chelsea, with City slapping a £30m price tag on the versatile fullback as the 25-year-old looks likely to depart Manchester this summer, though Arsenal and Frank Lampard’s Everton are also reportedly in the hunt for the Ukrainian.

Able to play left-back and central midfield, Zinchenko will be an excellent addition for any Premier League side this summer, though for Chelsea, the west London side arguably have the best case for signing the City star given how much quality Tuchel needs in the squad.

With rumours suggesting that Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Jorginho can all leave this summer, signing Zinchenko as cover would be a smart move from Chelsea, more so given how much City are demanding for the 25-year-old.

Chelsea are set for a huge summer this year, and signing Premier League-proven talent will be an excellent sign of intent from both Tuchel and Boehly that they are keen on winning silverware again next season, and landing Zinchenko could be a smart move for the Blues.

Indeed, the City talent can play multiple positions and has shown many times for club and country that he can impress on the biggest of stages, something Chelsea will want in their squad if they’re to start this new era under Boehly with a bang.
