According to CMW, Graham Potter’s Chelsea have included Newcastle United and AC Milan target Hakim Ziyech in their latest bid to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica in the January transfer window.
The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that Chelsea have offered Benfica €100 million (£88 million) in cash plus Morocco international winger Ziyech to sign 22-year-old Argentina international midfielder Fernandez.
CMW have added that last season’s Serie A champions AC Milan want to sign Ziyech, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder and played at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, in the January transfer window.
The 29-year-old has been strongly linked with Newcastle as well.
GiveMeSport journalist Dean Jones has reported that Newcastle are ready to make an offer for the former Ajax star and bring him to St. James’ Park on a loan deal for the rest of the season.
The Telegraph recently listed the £100k-a-week winger among Newcastle’s targets in the middle of the season. 90min also noted that the Toon have spoken with his agent over a possible deal.

Hakim Ziyech blow for Newcastle United
In our view, if Chelsea have included Hakim Ziyech in a bid for Enzo Fernandez, then it is a blow to Newcastle United in their quest to sign the 29-year-old.
After all, the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners have no reason to do Newcastle a favour and send them the winger on loan for the rest of the season.
If Chelsea manager Graham Potter does not think that the Moroccan is good enough for his team, then it would make sense to use to sign a player he does want in his side.
