One expert pointed out Chelsea’s remarkable habit of sacking managers despite their track record.

Chelsea’s decision to part ways with Enzo Maresca has once again put the spotlight on the club’s ruthless approach to managers.

Despite winning two trophies in his debut season, Maresca became just the latest in a long line of coaches to be shown the door soon after delivering success.

Expert’s post highlights a familiar Chelsea pattern

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire summed up the situation perfectly on X, suggesting this isn’t just a trend — it’s become part of the Chelsea identity.

Maguire’s post quickly caught the attention of Premier League fans, listing the five managers dismissed by Chelsea after winning multiple trophies.

“Enzo Maresca’s dismissal was the fifth time a Premier League manager has been sacked after winning two trophies the previous season.

“The other four sackings were Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti, Roberto de Matteo, and Jose Mourinho. The clubs doing the sacking were Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea… and Chelsea.”

The post underlined a reputation that’s stuck with the club for years — one where even success doesn’t buy much time.

Chelsea’s managerial cycle shows no sign of slowing down

Enzo Maresca’s exit follows a pattern Chelsea have followed that has affected some of the game’s biggest names.

Mourinho was twice let go despite winning league titles, Ancelotti was dismissed a year after a double, and De Matteo was gone months after a Champions League triumph.

Even under new ownership, little seems to have changed. Success still doesn’t guarantee job security, and Maguire’s post has become a fitting summary of a club where trophies haven’t brought stability in a long time.

For all the money spent and managers replaced, Chelsea remain true to one thing: their willingness to change course, no matter how recent the success.
