Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are now likely to miss out on the signing of Wilfried Zaha from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace on summer transfer deadline day, according to The Times.
Wilfried Zaha transfer blow for Arsenal and Chelsea
The Times have reported that Crystal Palace forward Zaha is ‘very unlikely’ to leave today.
The report has claimed interest from Chelsea in the former Manchester United player, described as “absolutely devastating” by former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell on The Highbury Squad podcast last week.
90min reported this week that Chelsea have been in talks with Palace over a deal for the 29-year-old, who is out of contract at the Eagles at the end of the season.
The Independent journalist Miguel Delaney suggested on Twitter this week that Arsenal could make a late bid for the winger.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Dean Jones said on The Done Deal Show last week that Arsenal have an eye on the former Manchester United player.

Could there be a twist?
Wilfried Zaha himself said this week that he is happy at Crystal Palace, but you never know what could happen on transfer deadline day.
Chelsea or Arsenal could make a big offer to Palace, and the chance to play for the Blues or the Gunners could be hugely tempting to Zaha.
After all, Chelsea and Arsenal are massive clubs and global brands and could end up in the Premier League top four this season.
