Thomas Tuchel has reportedly held a meeting with Everton and Newcastle United target Armando Broja to reassure the striker he wants to keep him at Chelsea for the upcoming season.
According to Football London, talks have taken place between the German coach and the Albanian international over his future at the club, with Tuchel giving Broja reassurances that he will get opportunities to play should the Blues keep hold of the Cobham academy graduate this summer.
Everton and Newcastle are both reportedly interested in the £30m-rated attacker this summer, with Broja making his competitive debut for Chelsea this weekend against the Toffees at Goodison Park, with the forward a late substitute in a 1-0 win against Frank Lampard’s side.
With Chelsea loaning out Romelu Lukaku and on the verge of selling Timo Werner, Broja remains the club’s only senior striker, and this could be why Tuchel has decided to keep the forward at Stamford Bridge despite interest from Premier League rivals.
Broja was one of the breakout players in the Premier League last season following an impressive loan spell with Southampton, and this summer has seen the 20-year-old linked heavily with a permanent move away from Chelsea, though the Blues will now seemingly keep the Slough-born talent for the year.
Indeed, with Chelsea light on strikers, Broja staying for the year could be a masterstroke from Tuchel, with the German coach yet to find a leading man to score consistent goals since the former PSG boss’ arrival in England, and this latest update seems to indicate that the west London side will take a gamble on the Everton and Newcastle target.
Chelsea keeping Broja could be the best decision club make all summer

Chelsea’s business this summer has varied from brilliant to downright confusing following the arrivals of Kalidou Koulibaly, Raheem Sterling and Marc Cururella, yet Tuchel keeping Broja for the year could prove to be the club’s best decision out of the lot with the Blues light in the centre-forward positon.
With the striker impressing for Southampton last season, Broja could have another breakout year for the Blues this year with Tuchel seemingly ready to give the Albanian international chances to impress this season, much to the dismay of Everton and Newcastle, who could now both miss out on the forward.
