Everton want Armando Broja and are hoping to discuss a potential deal with Chelsea this weekend having faced them in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Toffees lost 1-0 to Chelsea on Saturday evening, starting their Premier League campaign with a defeat.

Frank Lampard clearly needs a striker; Everton just didn’t have a threat without the injured Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Richarlison needs to be replaced after his move to Tottenham Hotspur and Everton must sign at least one striker in the coming weeks.

A host of names are being linked, but one keeps coming up again and again…

Everton want Armando Broja

Lampard’s connection to Chelsea means it would almost be a surprise if Everton didn’t sign a Blues talent on loan.

Michy Batshuayi, Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour continue to be linked but it’s striker Broja who looks most likely to join now.

The Daily Mail report that Everton were hoping to ask Chelsea for Broja on loan this weekend.

The meeting between the two clubs on Saturday may have helped pave the way for a deal to be done.

Broja, 20, spent last season on loan at Southampton and notched six goals in 32 Premier League games.

Broja has returned to Chelsea but looks unlikely to break through right now, even with Romelu Lukaku gone and Timo Werner seemingly on his way out.

The Albanian international may need another loan move with Everton now ready and willing to take him to Goodison Park.

West Ham United chased Broja earlier in the summer but ended up signing Gianluca Scamacca instead.

Two West Ham targets – Amadou Onana and Conor Coady – are now set to join Everton too, so Broja would make it something of a hat-trick for the Toffees.

Broja would certainly give Everton the striker they need, and Chelsea would surely love to give Lampard a favour after Saturday’s game.
