HITC understands that Chelsea have reiterated to Italian side Napoli that they want a permanent deal for Romelu Lukaku.
Since moving to Chelsea back in the summer of 2021, for around £95 million from Inter Milan, Romelu Lukaku has struggled in England and has been on multiple loan moves since that transfer to the Blues.
HITC has reported that Antonio Conte is keen on signing Lukaku and the Belgian is understood to be keen on reuniting with the Italian, who got the best out of the forward during their time together at Napoli.
With just days remaining, time is running out for Napoli to get a deal done for the Belgian forward this summer.
Chelsea ‘hopeful’ of striking Romelu Lukaku deal with Napoli
HITC understands that Chelsea have reiterated to the Italian side they want a permanent deal for Lukaku but they are ‘hopeful’ of finalising a deal in the coming days.
Lukaku has agreed terms with Napoli – who have been trying to work out a loan deal for Belgian star with options.
HITC understands that Chelsea have lowered their asking price of £38million – but the issue is the make up of the move rather than price.
Chelsea want a permanent sale and unless Napoli agree, a deal is in doubt – but sources believe this weekend will be key, after lengthy talks in London this week which saw Napoli director Giovanni Manna in England to hold talks face to face.
Chelsea still in talks with the Italian side over Victor Osimhen
Chelsea are still talking to Napoli about Victor Osimhen too – ironically Chelsea want the Nigerian on-loan, with an option and HITC is told Napoli would consider that but it is the player who is not overly keen on that option.
As for Osimhen, HITC reported that the Nigerian striker would be keen on a move to Stamford Bridge this summer but time is running out for the lethal forward to complete his move to West London.
The Saudi Pro League retain an interest in Osimhen and could make a move once the main English and Italian windows close at the end of the month.
