‘Chelsea fans don’t’: Richard Keys tears into Mauricio Pochettino for Tottenham Hotspur comments

Richard Keys has slammed Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino for his comments on Tottenham Hotspur.

Former Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino was appointed the Chelsea manager in the summer of 2023.

Pochettino went back to Spurs for the first time since his sacking four years ago on Monday evening.

Chelsea beat Tottenham 4-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the London derby.

It was a controversial and eventful Premier League match.

Before the game, Chelsea boss Pochettino was asked if he would ever take charge of Spurs again.

The former Paris Saint-Germain boss responded, as quoted in The Guardian: “It’s like life, you never know what is going to happen tomorrow. 

“We need to enjoy today and not look too much in the future.

“But, for sure, if I’m not working, [and] maybe if they want me one day … why not?”

Bein SPORT presenter Richard Keys is not happy with Pochettino’s comments.

The former Sky Sports presenter has said that Chelsea fans would not like Pochettino’s comments about a potential return to Tottenham in the future.

Keys wrote on his website: “Message to Poch – when you manage Chelsea if asked ‘would you go back to Spurs?’ The answer isn’t ‘why not?’ 

“The answer is ‘I’m the manager of Chelsea. I’m committed to this club now and want to get it right here’, something which he clearly hasn’t done so far.

“Chelsea fans don’t want to know that you’re still a Tottenham fan at heart.”

I agree with Richard Keys

I agree with Richard Keys.

In my opinion, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino should not have said that he is open to a return to Tottenham Hotspur.

After all, Pochettino was appointed the Chelsea boss just a few months ago and is under contract at the Blues.

I believe that the former PSG boss should have just said that he is happy at Chelsea right now and not thinking about the future.

Chelsea are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

As for Tottenham, they are doing extremely well at the moment, and I believe that the North London club could launch a challenge for the Premier League title.
