Chelsea have reportedly joined the race to sign Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Leandro Trossard, with Arsenal also in the mix for the Belgian international after a sensational run of form in the Premier League.
According to the Mirror, the Blues could move for Graham Potter’s former star winger in the January window, with Trossard in the form of his life for the Seagulls as the 27-year-old looks set to leave Brighton for free in the summer when his contract expires.
Voetbal Belgie reported in the summer that Arsenal are also keen on signing Trossard, and although the Gunners are flying high at the top of the Premier League table, adding the Brighton winger would have been quite the move given the form the attacker finds himself in this season.
The winger has bagged five goals and two assists in the Premier League, including an inspired hat-trick performance against Liverpool at Anfield, a display that drew comparisons to Andrey Arshavin’s display on Merseyside for Arsenal back in 2009 as the Russian bagged four that night.

Signed by Brighton for £18m, Trossard is finally coming into his own in the Premier League, and with Chelsea now in the mix to sign the Belgian, Arsenal face some serious competition in January if they’re to land the Premier League superstar, who could spur Mikel Arteta’s side on in the title race.
Indeed, depth out on the wings is exactly what Arsenal should be looking for in the winter, and although a right-sided player would be more ideal for the Gunners, Trossard could be a solid addition if the north London side can beat Chelsea to the forward’s signature.
Arsenal could be fine if Chelsea win race to sign Trossard

Trossard’s form this season has been one of the biggest surprise stories in the Premier League, and whilst the Brighton star would be a great addition for Arsenal, Chelsea winning the race to sign 27-year-old wouldn’t be the end of the world for Arteta or supporters.
After all, Trossard would be Arsenal’s oldest signing in quite some time, and with backup for Bukayo Saka the main transfer priority, recruiting an attacker who is in their prime and players on the opposite wing wouldn’t match up with the Gunners’ recent policy of bringing in younger names who can develop over time.
