Martin Keown has said on talkSPORT (11:56am, February 3, 2023) that some Chelsea players will be surprised that the Blues allowed Jorginho to join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the January transfer window.
The Arsenal legend believes that Jorginho is a good signing for the Gunners.
The Italy international midfielder moved to Arsenal from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea on the final day of the January transfer window.
Former Arsenal star Keown believes that some players in the Chelsea dressing room will be surprised that Jorginho has been allowed to move to Arsenal.
Martin Keown on Jorginho leaving Chelsea for Arsenal
Keown said: “Deep down, I think the Chelsea fans will realise what he has brought to the club, he passes the ball really well, he sits deep in the midfield.”
The pundit added: “I think there will be players in the Chelsea dressing room who will be a little bit surprised that he has been allowed to leave.”

Good signing for the Gunners?
In our view, Jorginho is a very good signing for Arsenal.
The former Chelsea star is one of the best midfielders around.
Yes, Jorginho is in his early 30s now, but that does not make him a bad player.
The Euro 2020 finals winner with Italy is at the top of his game at the moment and will be able to make an immediate impact at Arsenal.
The Gunners are aiming to win the Premier League title this season.
Jorginho has won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea.
And, in our view, the Italian will bring that winning mentality to Arsenal.
Just like Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko have since their move from Manchester City in the summer of 2022.
