Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea are ready to bid for Pau Torres, who has been linked with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur as well, according to CMW.
Chelsea want Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur-linked Pau Torres
Italian news outlet CMW have reported that Chelsea are ready to make a bid of €50 million (£42.54 million) for Villarreal central defender Torres in the summer transfer window.
The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners have reportedly identified the 25-year-old as a potential alternative to Jules Kounde.
Like Chelsea, Barcelona are keen on Sevilla centre-back Kounde, according to CMW, who have added that Juventus want to sign Torres as well.
Interestingly, Chelsea’s London and Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with the Torres.

Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano said on the Here We Go Podcast that Arsenal could look at signing Torres if they sell Brazilian defender Gabriel to Juventus.
Spurs already rejected
Earlier this month, 90min reported that Tottenham remain interested in Torres despite signing fellow centre-back Clement Lenglet on loan from Barcelona this summer.
Described as “extraordinary” by Villarreal Major Jose Benlloch in Marca in March 2022, Torres told The Guardian in November 2021 that he turned down a move to Tottenham last summer despite an agreement between Spurs and Villarreal.
Stats
Torres made 33 appearances in La Liga for Villarreal last season.
The 25-year-old scored five goals and gave one assist in those matches.
