Chelsea have confirmed that they have reached an agreement in principle with Palmeiras for the transfer of Brazilian winger WIllian Estevao.

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have already been very busy in the transfer market having already completed the signing of Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo.

As well as this, the Blues are understood to be interested in Aston Villa’s young striker Jhon Duran.

The Blues have now confirmed another deal is done with HITC reporting a month ago that the West London club believed they had won the race for the winger in a £60 million deal.

Chelsea agree Estevao deal

A post on Chelsea’s account on X confirmed that the club have indeed reached an agreement with the South American club for the transfer of the teenager.

Chelsea posted a statement on their website which read: “Chelsea Football Club has agreed a deal to sign teenage forward Estevao Willian from Palmeiras, with the Brazilian to officially join Chelsea next summer.

“The 17-year-old has already built a strong reputation in South America as one of the most exciting talents around due to his skilful dribbling and electric pace, causing defences plenty of problems in his breakout season in senior football.”

The teenage winger has only featured in 10 first team games for Palmeiras and contributed two goals and two assists during his spell in the senior team.

Estevao set to join Blues next summer

Because of the Brexit ruling which has affected the entirety of the Premier League, the Brazilian will not be able to complete his move to Stamford Bridge until next summer.

We had reported that the fee for the winger is an initial £47 million, which is a £9 million increase from the player’s £38 million release clause.

This means they can spread the payment across a series of instalments, with a £13 million made up of bonuses and add-ons should Estevao prove to be a success in England.

The overall package, including add-ons, is understood to be around £60 million. Only Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain), Joao Felix (Atletico Madrid) and Matthijs de Ligt (Juventus) moved for more before their 20th birthdays.
