Chelsea are closing in on yet another signing and that player has now opened up about the possibility of moving to Stamford Bridge.
Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have certainly been busy this summer with the Blues making a plethora of key signings as they bid to improve from last season’s mid-table finish.
Chelsea have signed Leicester City’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo, promising youngster Willian Estevao and are closing in on a deal for Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino.
HITC reported that Chelsea believed they had won the race for Anselmino, despite interest from Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United.

Aaron Anselmino opens up on Chelsea move
Boca tied Anselmino to a new four-year deal just a couple of months ago and sources indicated at the time that a previous release clause in the defender’s was removed.
However, it appears Chelsea have won the race for the Argentine and it appears Anselmino, who has been described as the ‘great jewel of Boca’, is excited about the move.
“I’m very happy, everything happened very quickly. Since I was a little boy, I dreamed of this, things are going well and I hope they continue like this. Every footballer dreams of this opportunity, I’m very happy,” he told ESPN.
ESPN go on to say that a deal for Anselmino should well be completed soon with the Argentine returning to the Argentine side on loan, but Chelsea do have the option to cut short the loan in December.
As mentioned, United were previously keen on Anselmino but it is Chelsea who look set to win the race.
Chelsea getting ‘strong and powerful defender’ for £13 million
Anselmino certainly has a lot of potential despite making just 10 first-team appearances for the Argentine club and a move to England is now on the cards.
The teenage defender has been labelled as ‘strong and powerful’ and Boca Juniors’ president, Joan Roman Riquelme, was keen to praise Anselmino believing that he will be key for the national team.
“With the growth, the head that he has and the desire to learn that he shows, he is on his way to being a great footballer,” Riquelme said, via Football London.
“He is going to be a player for the national team. He is going to compete with the centre-backs.”
Anselmino may well be the replacement for Trevoh Chalobah with Chelsea keen on allowing Chalobah to depart this summer.
