Chelsea want Anthony Gordon and Everton are now asking for either Conor Gallagher or Armando Broja on loan as part of the deal.

Chelsea want to sign top young talent and have already secured Cesare Casadei and Carney Chukwuemeka this summer.

Todd Boehly is ready to spend more on acquiring youngsters and it looks like Gordon is now the top priority for Chelsea.

This has left many baffled; is Gordon any better than Callum Hudson-Odoi, another young winger who can’t get even into the Chelsea team himself and is now heading out on loan?

Chelsea seemingly think so, but Everton are driving a very hard bargain.

Chelsea want Anthony Gordon

The Toffees don’t want to sell easily having already allowed Richarlison to leave for Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Chelsea are allegedly willing to pay around £60million to bring Gordon to Stamford Bridge, a quite staggering fee that nobody could have predicted a year ago.

Yet Everton have other plans and actually want to take a player on loan from Chelsea as part of the deal.

TalkSPORT claim that Everton have now asked Chelsea for either Conor Gallagher or Armando Broja in part-exchange for Gordon.

Gallagher and Broja impressed out on loan at Crystal Palace and Southampton respectively last season and Everton liked what they saw.

Gallagher did though start against Leeds United on Sunday, so Broja may make more sense for Everton as things stand.

Everton can’t sign both players on loan though; Premier League rules prohibit taking more than one player on loan from the same Premier League club.

This may be a blow for Newcastle United, with The Telegraph claiming that Gallagher and Broja are also on their wish list for the final days of the transfer window.

Everton are also trying to hijack Newcastle’s move for Watford attacker Joao Pedro, meaning the Toffees are becoming quite the nuisance to Newcastle.

The ball is now in Chelsea’s court, but they may well want that £60million fee brought down a little if they are also sending a player on loan to Goodison Park.
