Kevin Campbell has told the Highbury Squad Podcast that he likes the idea of Arsenal signing Christian Eriksen and he also thinks it would be a ‘cheeky dig’ at Tottenham.

The Sky Sports pundit and Arsenal legend believes that Eriksen, who left Tottenham last January, is ‘very, very good offensively’.

Well, Arsenal are looking for that experienced and proven creative spark in the middle of the park and it would be something if Eriksen landed on their doorstep.

Campbell backed Arsenal to secure Eriksen’s signature and shared why he would suit the Gunners.

“I wouldn’t turn my nose up at it,” said Campbell. “I think Christian Eriksen is a good player. He knows the Premier League and because he played for the other lot, it doesn’t matter.

“He was good, he was very, very good offensively. He’s a good international player and he knows the Premier League. I don’t see why not if we can do the business. And I am sure we can get him.

“He left there because of Mourinho. He wasn’t getting game time under Mourinho. This could be a cheeky little dig at the opposition [Tottenham], couldn’t it?”

Eriksen moved to Inter last January for £17 million [Sky Sports] hoping to show the world that he is taking a step forward in his career.

Well, it’s quite clear that he has gone backwards because he’s now on their transfer list, according to Inter’s CEO Beppe Marotta.

It seems as though if a club in Europe is willing to put the right money on the table for Eriksen’s talents then he will depart Italy.
