Kevin Campbell has said on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel that France international forward Marcus Thuram would be a good signing for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the January transfer window.
The former Arsenal striker believes that Thuram would give Mikel Arteta’s side a very physical presence upfront.
The Sky Sports pundit has noted that Arsenal will not have to pay a lot in transfer fees, as the 25-year-old is out of contract at German club Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of the season.
Thuram, who can operate as a striker, forward or winger, was part of the France squad that reached the final of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
The striker has actually been linked with Arsenal.
MilanLive reported in November that Arsenal are competing with Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Atletico Madrid for the 25-year-old.
Manchester United have also been linked with Thuram, who could be available for just £6 million.
Kevin Campbell wants Marcus Thuram at Arsenal
Campbell said about Thuram: “I think he could be a good addition, someone who can play across the front and someone who can give us a bit of physical presence up there because, although Eddie has been working on his physique and looks a bit stronger, (he is) somebody who is bigger, stronger, somebody more physical.
“That will keep defences on their toes, that’s for sure. It will be a fair deal because it will be pretty cheap because he has only got six months left on his contact, so it could be a good deal to be done.”

Cheap quick fix
In our opinion, signing Marcus Thuram for £6 million in the January transfer window would not be a bad idea for Arsenal.
Gabriel Jesus is out injured at the moment, so the versatile France international striker could replace the Brazil international in the team.
Yes, when Jesus is back, Arteta will have to manage the playing time of three strikers, but Thuram could be deployed out wide.
And heathy competition is always good.
And it is not as if Thuram is a bad player.
After all, the 25-year-old plays for France and could have won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
