Borussia Monchengladbach are reportedly ready to sell Marcus Thuram for a minimal transfer fee in the January window, with Arsenal and Tottenham both interested in signing the France international.
According to Sport Bild, the Bundesliga side have now conceded that they are unlikely to get a mammoth transfer fee for their 25-year-old attacker despite Thuram’s incredible form this season, with the forward bagging 13 goals in all competitions and playing for France at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
As per the report, Thuram’s contract situation means that Gladbach are settled at selling the attacker for as little as €7m (£6m), with numerous Premier League and Bundesliga sides interested in signing the forward, including Arsenal and Tottenham as reported by the Sun.
Hailed as ‘world-class’ by Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schafer, Thuram’s form has hit another level this season, with the former Guingamp star on course to enjoy his best year ever in a league campaign. And this update from Gladbach is major for the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham.

After all, £6m for an attacker who has scored 13 goals already this season is quite the coup for many clubs, and with Thuram only just about to hit the prime of his career, the Bundesliga talisman could soon become a new leading man for a top club.
Indeed, whilst Arsenal and Tottenham are stacked in the attacking department, opportunities such as this rarely come about in the market, and the north London duo could soon duke it out for Thuram’s signature, with the Frenchman an ideal signing for either club.
Arsenal and Tottenham will likely battle to sign Thuram in January

As mentioned, it’s rare for a player in as good a form than Thuram to be available in a transfer window for as little as £6m. Yet this is now seemingly a reality as we head into January, and Arsenal and Tottenham will likely battle it out to see who lands the France international.
Both north London sides are aiming for their own version of greatness this season, and for Mikel Arteta and Antonio Conte, adding a player like Thuram to their squad could be the deciding factor to Arsenal winning the Premier League or Tottenham achieving club-record league finish.
