Javi Gracia, who has recently been appointed as Leeds United boss has had his say on what is needed to save the club from relegation.
Currently, the Whites are languishing in 19th place in the Premier League after their gut-wrenching 1-0 defeat to Everton. As the Yorkshire-based club host Southampton at Elland Road on Saturday, all eyes will be on whether they manage to come out on top in the six-pointer.
Ahead of the all-important clash, Javi Gracia has given his thoughts on what Leeds need to under his tutelage to ensure that he stave off relegation this season.
Javi Gracia says what Leeds need to do to survive relegation
The ex-Watford manager’s arrival has been surrounded by a sense of optimism, with Junior Firpo saying his appointment is exactly what the club needed, while Jermaine Beckford is a fan of his pedigree as a coach.
Speaking to Spanish outlet MARCA, Javi Gracia himself has laid out the blueprint on what Leeds must to do ensure they survive relegation during the 2022/2023 campaign.

“It is a beautiful experience in a young team with a desire to do things well. Now, we have 3 months to work on it with a little order and confidence, we can improve the situation. 10 games without winning is a lot, but I see a positive atmosphere. Let’s see if we manage to find the key and change this dynamic.”
Doing the basics is key
While Javi Gracia is keeping things simple and straightforward when it comes to the formula behind Leeds surviving relegation, he is also bang on the money.
Ultimately, there is enough quality at their disposal to escape the drop but if there is disharmony within the camp and heads drop, the only way is down.
With Pep Guardiola and Kiko Casilla being huge admirers of Javi Gracia, he could be the perfect man to ensure the club beat the odds and escape relegation, as was the case during his time at Watford.
