Pundit Jermaine Beckford has given a short and sweet verdict on Javi Gracia being a quality appointment as Leeds United manager.

The Spanish boss has received plenty of praise during his time on the sidelines from the likes of Pep Guardiola and Kiko Casilla for being a brilliant tactician.

As Leeds sit in 19th place in the Premier League, pundit and ex-Whites player Jermaine Beckford has given his thoughts on the decision to hire Javi Gracia as the man to save them from relegation.

While Michael Skubala even seemed up to permanently replace Jesse Marsch, 2 defeats and 1 draw in 3 league matches were not convincing enough results for the board to take the leap of faith.

Instead, they chose to bring in a manager who has been there and done that in the English top-flight before with Watford in 2019.

Now, pundit Jermaine Beckford has given his take on Twitter on whether Leeds made the right call by handing the job to Javi Gracia, replying on Twitter, “Good appointment. Knows the league and knows his stuff. I’m excited to see what he brings.”

Huge pressure on Javi Gracia to deliver

In football, there aren’t many more challenging jobs than to come in and save a club from relegation.

The pressure on Javi Gracia at Leeds will be to instantly deliver, which pundit Jermaine Beckford expects him to, much like in the same vein as Sean Dyche at Everton.

If the 52-year-old does not, it would not even come as a surprise if the club eventually let go of him, as returning to the Championship just 3 years after their return to the Premier League would be devastating news for one of the biggest clubs in English football.
