Former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas raved about Gavi, who has been linked with a surprise switch to Liverpool in the summer.

In fact, it was recently claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s men, alongside Manchester City were keeping tabs on Gavi, who is rated as one of Europe’s most talented prospects at just 18 years of age.

With Barcelona currently finding themselves amidst a transfer ban as well as an alleged breaches including payments to referees, Liverpool may have an outside chance of signing Gavi, who Cesc Fabregas is a fan of.

Cesc Fabregas waxes lyrical about Liverpool target Gavi

A month ago, Jamie Carragher was in awe of Gavi during his sublime display for Blaugrana in the El Clasico against Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey.

In December, Cesc Fabregas expressed his admiration towards Liverpool target Gavi via Get French Football News, saying, “Gavi is really a very good player, very technical and very precocious. But what strikes me the most about him is his ability to go to the duel, not to be afraid of confrontation, like against Aurélien [Tchouameni] during a Clasico.”

“He plays with personality and I like that. If he continues, Gavi can do great things, both with the selection and with FC Barcelona.”

Gavi would be an incredible coup for the Reds

Considering the lack of technical quality in the Liverpool midfield has been criticised, the potential addition of a maestro in the making like Gavi would be ideal, as Cesc Fabregas has noticed.

With the £124,000-a-week man being just a teenager as well, his ceiling is limitless and he could lead the side’s midfield for the next decade and beyond.

Even if Liverpool find it a challenge to complete a deal for Gavi, Cesc Fabregas’ praise could urge them to try once again in the summer.
