The Celtic manager will surely be looking to bolster his squad in January.
Hoops stopper Craig Gordon spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s bitterly disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Anderlecht in the Champions League last night, and insisted that he and his teammates were quite simply not good enough, sharing his belief that Brendan Rodgers will strengthen his squad in January, as quoted by BBC Sport.
Celtic currently sit comfortably top of the Scottish Premiership, seven points clear of second placed Rangers, but their form on the continent must be a genuine cause for concern.
They have been quite sensational on the domestic front this season, and are currently in the midst of a 67 game unbeaten run in the league and domestic cup competitions.

Their form in Europe, however, has been contrasting to say the least, as they managed just three points from their six Champions League group games.
And Gordon, 34, admitted that the Hoops need to do better in big European games, claiming that he is sure Rodgers will strengthen his options in January, as quoted by BBC Sport:
“We have to be performing at the highest level, if not, at a club of this size, then you run the risk of being replaced. We need to do as well as we can in these big games to try and stay in the team. I’m sure the manager will be looking to strengthen the squad again in January.”
The Glasgow giants did at least qualify for the Europa League, due to their superior head-to-head record over Anderlecht, but they will have to dramatically improve upon their performances if they are to have any chance fo success in Europe’s second-tier competition.
