Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan may be interested in Kristoffer Ajer, but it seems that Celtic will not sell the central defender on the cheap.
According to Sporten, Tottenham are interested in signing Ajer from Celtic in the summer transfer window (click here to read more).
The Norway international’s agent, Tore Pedersen, has already said that the youngster will leave the Hoops at the end of the season, as quoted in The Daily Record.
Calciomercato has now reported that AC Milan have been monitoring the 22-year-old, who can also operate as a defensive midfielder.
The report in the Italian news outlet has added that Celtic will ask for a high transfer fee which Milan may not be able to afford.
While it will not be good news for the Serie A outfit, that the Hoops will sell Ajer – for a high sum of money – will be positive for Spurs.
With Jan Vertonghen out of contract at Spurs this summer and Juan Foyth not progressing much, it would make sense for the North London outfit to bring in a new centre-back.
It remains to be seen if Tottenham will be willing to pay what Celtic want for Ajer, given the economic uncertainly in the game caused by the global health crisis.
Meanwhile, The Daily Mail has reported that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy does not want to play the remainder of the Premier League in neural venues, as he is worried that it will hinder his attempt to sell the naming rights for Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
