Italian outlet CalcioMercato claim Serie A side Monza have opened talks to sign Celtic defender Josip Juranovic despite interest from some of the Premier League’s biggest – with the Croatia ace likely to exit Parkhead in the next few weeks.
Juranovic, 27, returned to Celtic action on Monday in the Old Firm derby at Ibrox. It comes after starring for his country in Qatar, playing every game as Croatia finished third after losing to Argentina in the semi-finals. A superb campaign.
But he was poor against Rangers on Monday. Scott McDonald claimed he was still in Qatar, after coming on to the field of play to replace the injured Greg Taylor. Indeed, Juranovic is being strongly linked with a move away from Celtic.
Clubs from England, Italy and Spain are all interested. The Record say Newcastle are one of those, with a fee of £17m needed to get him. Now, CM report that Monza are looking to push Torino aside and are in talks to get Juranovic.

Monza have opened talks to sign Celtic defender Juranovic, in shock move
It comes as a bit of a surprise. Given the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and other big hitters in European football are said to have taken a look – a move to Monza would be a surprising one. But they are ambitious.
In the summer, Monza clocked up an enormous 21 signings. Including, Italy international Andrea Ranocchia, Arsenal defender Pablo Mari on loan and striker Andrea Petagna. But a move for Juranovic would be their most-expensive yet.
The chances are that Juranovic is not keen on a move to Monza. He is being linked with bigger clubs. Monza sit in 15th place in Serie A – prior to Wednesday’s games – and could be in a relegation battle. Hardly tempting for Juranovic.
