According to the Scottish Daily Mail (back page, 24/06), Celtic are planning to offer £3million to sign Bologna defender Aaron Hickey this summer.
The Bhoys need to get moving with their summer plans, and things may start to speed up after new manager Ange Postecoglou arrived on Wednesday.
Defenders seem to be a priority for Celtic right now, with talks opened for Hajduk Split defender Mario Vuskovic over a £3million deal.
Celtic plot Hickey move
It’s claimed that Celtic are willing to offer £3million for Hickey, seemingly viewing him as a left back rather than a right back despite his ability to play in both positions.
Hickey, 19, was on the Celtic books for four years before heading back to Hearts in 2018, where he became a first-team player.
The Scot could now return to Parkhead once again, having made just 11 Serie A appearances for Bologna last season.

Hickey and Vuskovic make sense
Celtic need young talent with resale value, and signing Hickey and Vuskovic for a combined £8million perfectly fits into those plans.
Daniel Stendel was a huge fan of Hickey at Hearts, branding him an ‘extraordinary talent’ and similar to Philipp Lahm, seemingly backing him for a huge future.
Vuskovic is one of the top young talents in Croatia, so if Celtic can open their summer transfer window with those two signings, then they would be making a great start.
