Celtic may be in the market for a new centre back in January, and Mark McKenzie is a popular name.
The Bhoys have seen Shane Duffy struggle to hit top form since arriving from Brighton and Hove Albion, whilst Kristoffer Ajer may be a wanted man.
In September, Sky Sports reported that Celtic had picked out McKenzie as a potential target, asking Philadelphia Union to be informed of their plans.
The 21-year-old was describes as being keen on a move to Europe, but he failed to earn a switch before the international deadline in October.
McKenzie posted something of a cryptic tweet after the deadline, hinting that a move could be in the offing in the future – and Celtic fans urged him to make the move to Parkhead.
McKenzie isn’t the biggest centre back of all time at 5ft 11in tall, but he’s quick and has impressed in Major League Soccer with his defensive ability.
Celtic may well still fancy McKenzie in January, and he has now spoken about his future whilst speaking with Unexpected Goals in Philadelphia.

McKenzie claims that he has seen all the rumours about a move, but claims he only wants to go once he’s won trophies with Philadelphia Union – meaning Celtic may have to wait.
“Look there’s all kinds of speculation and rumours out there, but I’ll give you this generic answer – right now I’m focused on helping the Union in any way I can. I want to help the team get to the MLS Cup and raise it. That’s kind of got my attention at this time,” said McKenzie.
“Ultimately my dream is to play in Europe at the highest level. I’ve seen the speculation, rumours, the interest and whatnot. But I’ll cross that bridge once we lift some trophies. I’m not gonna get too far ahead,” he added.
