Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers have been linked with Louis Moult, while Celtic-linked John McGinn would be perfect for the Gers.
Rangers are at a low at the moment, having been rejected by former Gers midfielder Derek McInnes to take the managerial role at Ibrox.
With Graeme Murty in charge of the Rangers first team until the end of the year, it could be tough for the Glasgow giants to convince players to sign for them in the January transfer window (click here to read more).
The Gers are not going to win the Scottish Premiership title this season, and are facing stiff competition from Aberdeen and Hibernian for the runners-up spot.
Celtic should take advantage of their Old Firm rivals’ current misery and make two signings that would not only enhance their quality, but would also severely decimate Rangers – Louis Moult and John McGinn.
Moult is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership, and McGinn is one of the best midfielders in Scotland.
Moult, 25, is on the radar of Rangers, according to a report in The Daily Record in October, and although he has been ruled out for a month due to a hamstring injury, his goalscoring prowess cannot be underestimated.
Celtic wanted to sign McGinn in the summer transfer window, according to The Express, and the 23-year-old has become better since then.
The Scotland international midfielder would be the perfect long-term replacement for Scott Brown at Celtic, and he would also certainly enhance the quality of the current Rangers team (click here to read more).
True, both Moult and McGinn would find it hard to break into the Celtic starting lineup, but signing the duo would mean that Rangers would have no hopes of securing them… possibly ever.
After all, once Moult and McGinn have played for Celtic, they would find it hard to turn out for Rangers. Moreover, the Hoops would not do any direct business with the Gers.
By signing Moult and McGinn, Celtic would take away from Rangers two players who could make them much, much better.
