According to a report in The Sun on Sunday last month (print edition, page 63, October 22, 2017) Crystal Palace may consider trying to sell goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey in the January transfer window (click here to read more).

Hennessey has lost his place in the Palace starting lineup, as the Eagles continue to struggle in the Premier League.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper has been on the books of the London club since 2014, but it seems that his time at Selhurst Park is coming to an end.

Celtic should take advantage of this situation and make a move for Palace custodian Hennessey in the January transfer window.

The 30-year-old is a hugely experienced player, having played over 70 times for the Wales national football team.

Given the fact that the former Wolverhampton Wanderers custodian is a Premier League player and is only 30 years of age, Celtic would be getting a very good goalkeeper.

Craig Gordon is a good goalkeeper as well, but the 34-year-old Scotland international is prone to making mistakes.

True, Hennessey may not be able to replace Gordon in the Celtic starting lineup straightaway, but he would give the former Sunderland goalkeeper stiff competition, something that he needs in order to be consistent.
