Crystal Palace may consider trying to cash in on the Welshman during the January transfer window.

According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (print edition; 22nd October 2017; page 63), Crystal Palace may consider trying to sell goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey during the January transfer window.

Palace have endured a miserable start to the Premier League season, with their surprise victory over Chelsea last weekend being the only time in their opening nine top flight games where they have avoided defeat.

The 30-year-old has had to pick the ball out of his net on 17 occasions in just seven appearances in the league, and has been an unused substitute in the Eagles’ last two games, with veteran stopper Julian Speroni taking the gloves.

And The Sun on Sunday (print edition; 22nd October 2017; page 63) has suggested that it may be a sign of things to come for the Wales international.

According to The Sun on Sunday, Hennessey – whose deal is running out at Selhurst Park – may be sold in January to ensure that Palace receive some money for him.

Though things have not exactly gone to plan for the former Wolves man this season, he is an experienced goalkeeper in the top flight, and if he is sold in January, he will be hoping to earn a move that gives him a chance to prove that Palace made a mistake letting him go.
