Celtic are interested in signing Hammarby left back Mohanad Jeahze – and he has now been tabbed as the best left back in Sweden.

The Bhoys have pretty decent history with players from Sweden.

Henrik Larsson springs to mind of course, but there are also the likes of Johan Mjallby and Mikael Lustig who fit the bill.

Carl Starfelt now looks set to follow suit after a slow start and Celtic could now look towards the Swedish market once again.

The Scottish Sun reported earlier this week that Celtic are looking to snap up Hammarby star Jeahze this summer.

Jeahze ironically had something of a fight with the aforementioned Lustig back in Sweden.

Ange Postecoglou wants to add another left back with Greg Taylor needing some more competition at Parkhead.

Jeahze is now a prime target for Celtic and a deal worth around £2million after Lech Poznan failed with a bid.

Jeahze, 25, was born in Sweden but has picked up four caps for Iraq. Formerly of Norrkoping, Brommapojkarna and Mjallby, Jeahze is now shining with Hammarby.

An attack-minded left back with 12 assists in just 55 appearances, Jeahze has shown his end product in the final third.

Jeahze may not be the biggest name but he could provide Celtic exactly what they need in terms of left back competition.

Celtic fans will be keen to learn more about Jeahze and teammate Darijan Bojanic has given the biggest praise possible.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, Hammarby ace Bojanic has suggested that Jeahze is ‘really class’ and the best left back in Sweden.

Bojanic added that Jeahze has great decision-making and superb passing, believing he is just an outstanding left back.

“He’s class. Really class right through – there is no better left back in all of Sweden,” said Bojanic. “He is better than the left-backs in the national team as well. He is the best.”

“It’s how he is with the ball and his ability to run up and down the field all the time. He always makes good decisions. Mohanad’s passing is central to us on the pitch – all of that. He’s class right through,” he added.

There is of course a step up from Hammarby to Celtic, but Jeahze could be worth a punt for just £2million.
