Josip Juranovic looks increasingly unlikely to become a Celtic player as the Scottish giants won’t pay the sort of money Legia Warsaw want for the Croatia international, as reported by Index.
In the aftermath of last night’s 3-0 thumping of Jablonec – a result that put Celtic one step closer to Europa League football – Ange Postecoglou insisted his extensive rebuilding project wasn’t over yet.
The foundations appear to be in place at least. Kyogo Furuhashi, Liel Abada and Joe Hart have already made quite an impression at Parkhead, but Postecoglou’s squad still has more holes in it than a block of Leerdammer.
Anthony Ralston may have enjoyed a remarkable start to the season, scoring two brilliant goals along the way, but there are considerable doubts over whether he has the technical ability to be the club’s first choice right-back.
The only problem is, finding an upgrade hasn’t been easy.

Celtic have already hit a brick wall in their pursuits of Aurelio Buta, Valentin Rosier and George Baldock, to name but three.
And, according to Index, Legia Warsaw star Juranovic won’t be joining either.
Now that’s quite a contrast to 48 hours ago, when Sky Sports claimed the 25-year-old had his heart set on a move to Glasgow.
Unfortunately, however, Legia Warsaw aren’t quite so keen to do business. It’s understood Celtic and Legia are miles apart in their valuation of a man rumoured to be available for £2.5 million.
As such, the Glasgow giants appear to have walked away from the table, turning their attention to alternative targets as Juranovic slips through their grasp like so many others.
Many Celtic supporters had welcomed the idea of Juranovic arriving at Parkhead, believing the Zagreb-born crossing machine could solve their long-standing right-back problems.
Now it looks as though they – and Postecoglou – must swallow yet another spoonful of transfer window frustration.
