The Borussia Dortmund right-back joins on loan for the rest of the season. Some Hoops fans are now dreaming of the Europa League final in Baku.

Many Celtic fans have finally got what they had been asking for in January as the Scottish Premiership leaders completed the signing of right-back Jeremy Toljan on loan from Borussia Dortmund.
The 24-year-old, a former Germany Under-21 international, joined the Bundesliga leaders from Hoffenheim in 2017 and made 17 appearances last term, but has only made one appearance this term, according to BBC Sport.
Mikael Lustig has been Celtic’s first-choice right-back but, despite seven assists this season, four of which came his last two games, he has come in for criticism by some of the Parkhead faithful on several occasions.
Anthony Ralston has filled in but an injury is keeping him from the first team, while Cristian Gamboa’s days at the club seem numbered and new arrival Manny Perez, like his fellow American Andrew Gutman, will continue their development with loan moves back in the USA.
Therefore, Toljan is the man who will most likely be tasked with challenging for the team’s right-back position alongside Lustig and arguably has a “final piece of the jigsaw” feeling about it.
Needless to say, his arrival yielded a generally positive reaction from the Hoops fanbase on Twitter, with some now dreaming of the Europa League final in Baku:
