Celtic have brought in Ange Postecoglou as their new manager – and he could bring former Bhoys defender Erik Sviatchenko back to the club.
After missing out on Eddie Howe, Celtic decided to bring in former Australia boss Postecoglou from Yokohama F. Marinos.
He must now look to bring in new signings with director of football above him, and Sviatchenko is believed to be a shock target.
Celtic’s interest in re-signing Sviatchenko
Both The Scottish Sun and The Daily Record reported late last night that Sviatchenko was high on the Celtic wish list, with Postecoglou making him his first target.
Sviatchenko first joined Celtic back in January 2016, and made 63 appearances for the club before being sent back to Midtjylland by Brendan Rodgers.
The centre back is now 29 and captained Midtjylland to the Danish title in 2020, with Postecoglou possibly seeking his experience and leadership.

Celtic fans have their say
Celtic supporters have been taking to Twitter to react to the Sviatchenko rumours, and it’s fair to say that they’re pretty split.
Some fans believe Celtic should bring Sviatchenko ‘home’, believing he should never have been sold in the first place and would cry if he comes back.
Others noted that Sviatchenko is nearly 30 and struggled against Rangers in the past, believing that this is a backwards move and ‘pretty grim’ to be going back to an old player.
