Celtic are now second favourites with one bookmaker to be the former Aston Villa captain’s next permanent club – leapfrogging their fierce rivals.

Celtic have been cut to 5/1 to John Terry’s next permanent club with Sky Bet after the defender left Aston Villa.
Derby County (1/2) remain favourites to be Terry’s destination, although Celtic could be an option after the Bhoys leapfrogged rivals Rangers – and America’s MLS (both 8/1) – in the betting.
Terry, who spent the bulk of his career as Chelsea’s captain, once told Celtic’s official website he was a fan of the Scottish champions growing up, with his brother Paul favouring Rangers.
And Brendan Rodgers’ side could be in need of a new centre-half should Dedryck Boyata and/or Jozo Simunovic depart, as has been speculated this summer.

Derby have been strongly linked with a move for Terry, after appointing his close friend and former teammate Frank Lampard as manager.
It was reported earlier this month, however, that the Rams have ended their interest after tying Curtis Davies to a new contract.
Terry, 37, led Aston Villa to last season’s Championship play-off final, although the Villans’ poor financial state meant that he could not be offered fresh terms.
Could the former Aston Villa captain end up at Celtic?
