Celtic have confirmed that defender Jack Hendry has left the Parkhead side permanently to join Belgians KV Oostende.
Hendry, who was part of Scotland’s Euro 2020 squad, has been on loan at Oostende and impressed for the Belgians last season, with Celtic confirming his exit on Twitter.
As part of his loan deal, Oostende held an option to buy the player but he might not be with them for much longer.
Reports have claimed the Belgians planned to activate the option to sign Hendry and immediately sell him for profit and make a few extra Euros in the process.
Disappointing time at Celtic for Hendry
Hendry joined Celtic under Brendan Rodgers from Dundee but never looked comfortable at Parkhead, quickly falling out of favour.
During his three years on the books at Celtic, Hendry only managed 27 appearances for the Hoops before being shipped out on loan.
A spell in Australia with Melbourne City ended as a result of injury before he joined Oostende in July last year.
Following that, his performances in Belgium consistently earned praise from fans and pundits alike, doing enough to convince Steve Clarke he should be part of the squad at Euro 2020.
