Celtic want Alexandro Bernabei and the Lanus left back has been hailed by South American football expert Tim Vickery.
The Bhoys want new signings to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s squad as they look ahead to a big season.
Celtic not only want to win the Scottish Premiership once again but are desperate for progression in Europe.
That means key signings are needed and a new left back will be on the radar.
Greg Taylor is a solid player but Boli Bolingoli has no future at Celtic and Liam Scales could yet be on the move.
Celtic want Alexandro Bernabei
Celtic appear to have focused in on South America as they have been linked with two Argentinian left backs this summer.
First it was Velez Sarsfield star Francisco Ortega with The Scottish Daily Mail reporting Celtic’s interest last month.
Then Football Scotland claimed that Celtic were going for Lanus ace Bernabei instead, sticking in the Argentinian market.
Bernabei is diminutive at just 5ft 5in tall, but is known for his speed and attacking play up the left flank for Lanus.
A former winger, Bernabei has bagged four goals and 10 assists in 84 outings for Lanus.
Now seemingly being lined up for a move to Scotland, Bernabei is something of an unknown but has huge potential at just 21.
Celtic will likely have to pay around £4million for Bernabei and the Bhoys look set to chase a deal – even though Bernabei endured a dismal Sunday.

Lanus beat Colon 1-0 on Sunday but Bernabei was sent off in the second half for head-butting an opponent.
That may just give Celtic cause for concern but Bernabei has now been talked up by South American football expert Tim Vickery.
Vickery has told Sky Sports that Bernabei is ‘quick’ and ‘interesting’ going forward, praising his left foot and ability from set pieces.
Vickery did note the fears about Bernabei’s physical capabilities but is attracted to the Celtic target’s ability in the final third.
“They are obviously looking at Argentine left backs, they looked at Francisco Ortega of Velez Sarsfield, these are young, quick left backs,” said Vickery. “I have not seen Bernabei for a while, but what is interesting about him is the first time I was watching him he was playing higher up the field as a left winger.”
“He has got that capacity to get into the penalty area and score goals. nice left foot, good with set pieces, quick, interesting. And again, you wonder if he is going to get rolled over physically, but this to me looks like an intelligent piece of scouting because I’m a sucker for a left foot, it just opens up the field so much if you have someone with a good left foot like he has,” he added.
