Celtic are already being heavily linked with summer signings as Caen striker Alexandre Mendy is being targeted for a move to Glasgow.
Earlier this week, it was Hammarby left back Mohanad Jeahze being linked with a move to join Celtic this summer.
Now it’s another striker with French newspaper L’Equipe reporting Celtic’s interest in signing Mendy.
It’s claimed that Celtic have already offered around €3million (£2.5million) to sign Mendy this summer.
Caen aren’t keen to sell Mendy but would allow him to go if Celtic increase their offer.
It’s unclear whether Celtic will launch another bid but, if the first offer is true, you would imagine they will try again.
Who is Celtic target Alexandre Mendy?
Mendy, 28, has been something of a nomadic figure over in France.
After starting with Nice, Mendy went on loan to Strasbourg and Nimes before a permanent move to Guingamp in 2016.
Bordeaux signed Mendy a year later, only to then loan him back to Guimgamp and then to Brest.
In 2020, Mendy finally had a new permanent home as Caen swooped – and this is the most settled he has been.

Before moving to Caen, Mendy had never played more than 30 games in a single spell for one club.
Mendy has now played 62 times for Caen, scoring 21 goals.
With 16 goals this season, Mendy has enjoyed a fine campaign for the second-tier side.
Mendy could follow in the footsteps of fellow Guinea Bissau international striker Amido Balde in playing for Celtic – though he would want more success than Balde.
Celtic do already have quality striking options in Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda and Giorgos Giakoumakis.
Yet having been branded ‘really very strong’ by his former Bordeaux boss Jocelynn Gourvennec, Ange Postecoglou seemingly feels Mendy is the ideal complement to Celtic’s attack.
