Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side play host to Steven Gerrard’s Rangers in Sunday’s Old Firm clash.

Celtic ace Leigh Griffiths spoke to reporters after firing his 100th goal for the club during their 3-0 win over Suduva in the Europa League last night, and fired a warning for Rangers ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm clash at Parkhead, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times.

The Gers have earned rave reviews this season since Steven Gerrard took over in the summer, whilst the Hoops have received criticism from some sections of the media, having lost twice already this term.
Both Rangers and Celtic will be desperate for three points on Sunday, as they look to close the gap on league leaders Hearts, and the match could very well be one of the most significant Old Firm derbies in recent years.
Griffiths spoke to reporters after last night’s win over Suduva, and warned Rangers that they are yet to face a team of Celtic’s calibre, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times:

“We’ve nothing to prove on Sunday. The fans and everybody else knows how well we can play. Yeah, we’ve had a sticky patch and lost a couple of games but that’s two clean sheets on the bounce now so we need to move forward. There’s a big game coming on Sunday and that’s when big players turn up. Listen, they’ve been playing well. Their new manager has come in and got them playing well but it’s a different kettle of fish when he comes up against us. He’s not come up against a team like us yet and hopefully we’ll do our talking on the pitch on Sunday.”
Rangers can leapfrog Celtic with a win at Parkhead on Sunday, whilst Brendan Rodgers’ side will be looking to hammer home their recent superiority over Gerrard’s men.
