Erling Haaland’s World Cup might be over but the Norway striker certainly made quite the impact during his brilliant run.

Not only did Haaland score seven goals as Norway reached the quarter-finals before losing to England, the Manchester City striker became a genuine social media sensation in the United States.

Argentina beat Switzerland to set up a semi-final vs England! How can Thomas Tuchel's side stop Lionel Messi? Is it possible?

There are not many players like Haaland in the sport. The 25-year-old is unique and his personality on various social media platforms has raised his profile just as much as his actual contributions on the field.

Ahead of Norway’s World Cup clash with England, CBS Mornings ran a feature where reporter Kiniry attempted to take on Haaland’s famous 6,000 calorie daily diet.

Kiniry dealt with the breakfast containing four eggs, toast, yoghurt and raw milk well. Lunch – which consisted of a huge Italian sandwich containing Parma ham, burrata, sun-dried tomatoes, rocket, truffle oil, and pesto – was also completed.

When it came to dinner, however, things changed. Haaland is known to polish off a 2.5 pound steak including the bone marrow.

At that point, Kiniry had to give up. She admitted she had to ask some of the crew to help her finish the last meal of the day and for that she cannot be blamed.

The one-of-a-kind Haaland has made a huge impression on the American public during the World Cup

Already hugely famous in Europe, he has announced himself across the pond now too.

It will certainly be interesting if his famed ‘Viking’ diet catches on…
